OUR STUDENTS’ SUCCESS

  • İçim Ağlamaz (PERA B.A. 2018) and former exchange student Manuela Hier were selected for the Start for Dance / Residency for young dancers in a contemporary dance project supported by ERASMUS +. This residency involved working with choreographers, Irene Kalbusch from Belgium and Francesca Selva from Italy, as well as taking part in the devising process and being given opportunities to perform internationally for a duration of two months.
  • In her second year of study, Inês Ribeiro (PERA B.A. 2020) was invited to do an apprenticeship program with Companhia Instável in Portugal for the creation by Mafalda Deville, entitled BARRO. In her final year of study, Inês Ribeiro has worked with Rafaela Sahyoun as an assistant director and performer in her creation ‘VAHM’. Since her graduation, she has joined forces with Rafaela Sahyoun as an assistant director and performer in her more recent creations such as ‘Wheel of Radical Affection’, which was developed and co-created with the students of PERA.
  • In her final year of study, Andrea Soares (PERA B.A. 2020) completed a one month R&D with Chhaya Collective, a contemporary dance company working between UK and India.
  • In her final year of study, Rafaela Silva (PERA B.A. 2020) completed a one month internship with Woman Srsly, a performance art collective based in the UK, assisting with the technical support of various platforms.
  • In her final year of study, Rita Gaspar (PERA B.A. 2021) participated in an internship at Companhia Professional Corpo, in Portugal. Since her graduation, Rita Gaspar has been working in Sublime Dance Company, based in Portugal.
  • In her third year of study Giovana Sanchez (PERA B.A. 2022), have created and performed a duet with Rita Gaspar (PERA B.A. 2021) entitled ‘Affective Tenderness’ which was performed at the Curtas de Angra Festival on Terceira Island. Giovana Sanchez is also assisting and organising the Giro Festival based at Horta in the Açores.
  • In her final year of study, Ines Gonfer has been selected as the assistant choreographer for Olga Roriz Company in her new creation “Pas d’agitation”, which will be premiered at the Louvre Museum in Paris on the 14th February 2022.
